5g Brown Sugar Sachet Machines: A Factory Buying Guide

How to Specify a 5g Brown Sugar Sachet Project

A useful equipment enquiry describes the material, the bag and the accepted production output. “5g brown sugar” identifies the portion, but leaves the feeding behaviour, seal pattern, film and downstream handling unresolved. Those details decide which configuration should be trialled and how competing quotations can be compared.

1. Use the Brown Sugar You Will Actually Pack

Send a representative sample from the product that will be ordered for production. Record whether the crystals flow freely, form soft lumps or change after being held in the hopper. Describe the normal storage and factory conditions. Do not use a white-sugar trial as the only acceptance evidence for a brown-sugar project.

Ask the supplier to keep the sample identity with its trial record. If your factory uses multiple sugar suppliers or grades, explain the variation before the dosing and feeding arrangement is finalised. A configuration suitable for one sample may need adjustment for another.

2. Define Flat Sachet or Stick Pack

Provide a finished bag or drawing with outside length and width. Mark the seal arrangement and where the consumer should open it. A four-side-seal flat sachet and a back-seal stick do not use the same forming geometry. Neither format automatically specifies a lane count or an achievable production rate.

Supply the intended film structure and artwork repeat. Ask which dimensions belong to the finished sachet and which belong to the roll. Confirm cut position, artwork registration and legibility of any coding rather than checking only the machine's overall film-width specification.

3. Agree on a Fill-Weight Acceptance Plan

Use 5g as the target net dose and agree on the acceptable variation, sampling approach and empty-pack tare method. Separate a stable average fill from pack-to-pack variation. Record the machine settings and the production condition associated with each sample set; do not accept a single selected sachet as proof of repeatability.

Include hopper replenishment and stop-start operation. Check whether the supplier needs additional feeding provisions for the actual sample and whether material remains near the seal after filling. A catalogue volumetric range in millilitres does not establish a brown-sugar mass range in grams.

4. Check Finished Packs, Not Just Machine Motion

  • Inspect all seal edges and the cut position using an agreed finished-pack test.
  • Look for sugar trapped in the seal and check for inconsistent bag shape.
  • Review the opening feature with the actual film and filled portion.
  • Include rejected packs in the output record and ask how they leave the line.
  • Confirm the cleaning and changeover procedure relevant to your planned products.

Film barrier performance and storage-life targets require packaging-material validation. They should not be inferred from the machine's brand or from the appearance of a freshly made sachet.

5. Specify the Counted Carton, if Required

For cartons of sachets, supply the intended count, internal carton dimensions and orientation. Ask for a line layout showing the packer discharge, transfer, counting, buffer and carton loading. Compare accepted sachets per minute with the sachets consumed by the target carton rate; allow the supplier to explain losses and interruptions instead of treating nominal cycles as finished output.

Your Enquiry Checklist

Send the sugar sample, target net weight, sachet drawing, film, required accepted output and destination electrical requirements. Add carton information if secondary packing is in scope. Ask SUK for a sample-based project review rather than a quotation based only on an application name.
